Ideal bouquet, to be honest.
I recently reached a milestone in my weight loss journey! It took me nearly three years, but I’ve lost 50 pounds. The photo on the left was from Halloween 2010 and I had recorded my highest weight ever that morning. I struggled to find a “costume” that fit -because I had been in denial about how much weight I had gained, I was unable to get into my planned outfit.
I was depressed, uncomfortable, and ashamed. Fortunately, a few months later, I found running and quickly became obsessed. I signed up for my first 5k and was hooked on the high. I soon learned that running was not a license to eat anything I wanted. Rather, it was about how to fuel my body in a way that allowed it to perform at its best. Now I run marathons, which is something 2010 Lora never imagined.
Before: 206 pounds of fat. After: 156 pounds of some fat, but way more muscle. My goal weight has always been 135, but mainly, it’s about reducing fat. The scale determines some of that for me, but above all things, I want to maintain my health and happiness.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again. This time, more intelligently.
